Feet are disgusting…

…and the idea of having someone’s feet touching me literally knocks me sick.

All feet.

Even babies feet.

ESPECIALLY my own horrible little hobbit feet.

So the idea of letting somebody else touch them, not only repulses me to my very core, but would be a completely humiliating experience. Even I try not to touch them, the rare occasion I actually do is only to put a blob of nail varnish here and there. Combine that with the fact I walk at least an hour to and from work every day, and you can imagine what sort of state they’re in.

You can see where I’m going with this can’t you..?

Obviously a fish pedicure is the answer to all my foot problems, and something I keep meaning to buy a groupon voucher for, but never quite get round to. So when my Mum and I saw a tank at Dubai’s Wild Wadi Waterpark, we figured there’s no time like the present.

First off, I’m so glad I didn’t buy a voucher and go alone – to say I made a scene  when I first put my feet into the tank would be a massive understatement. Even little kids were rolling their eyes at me.

In my defence, the man before me came out bleeding, so I was already a bit concerned… but  the initial nipping/tingling sensation wasn’t the relaxing beauty treatment I was expecting at all.

I knew I was acting like a child but I couldn’t help it – I must have lifted my feet out of the tank about four times going, “oh god, OH GOD I CAN’T HACK IT” before I finally got stuck in. All of my faffing around, of course, drew even more attention to the fact that literally every single fish in the tank seemed to rush towards me.

Obviously my feet really are just as disgusting as I thought.

Surrounded by sports mummies with the odd one or two nibbling away and I had this…

Not exactly the glamourous look I was going for really.

Even though you do sort of just get used to it after five minutes, I’ve got to be honest and say that the entire time I was thinking, “never again, NEVER again!” But when I climbed out and saw how beautiful and soft my feet were… maybe I’ll have to give it another go.
