After two years, three moves, five different jobs and countless amazing memories, I’ve finally waved goodbye to Brighton and moved back to my beautiful home town; Liverpool.

The last two weeks have been a whirlwind of hysterical phone calls, badly packed boxes and one too many leaks, but before I let you in on The Scarlett Guide to Moving House, I thought I’d take the opportunity to reminisce about some of the most memorable moments from my two years in Brighton…

The fight in a gay bar…

This incident taught me the dangers of singing karaoke, (as well as teaching me that, just because you dye your hair red doesn’t mean you look like Rihanna) and was by far the most memorable and ridiculous moments from my time in Brighton. (Read the whole sorry episode…)

The accidental protest…

I’d only popped out for a loaf when I ended up on the other side of the city, marching in a protest and getting punched by a policeman… (Find out what happened.)

Learning the wrong way to deal with getting kissed by a lesbian…

A simple, “I’m sorry, I’m straight” would have done… but nothing is ever simple in the Scarlett life. (Find out how much of an awkward person I am…

From living next to a “massage parlour” to meeting a dominatrix at a burlesque class, turning my back on life as I knew it and moving to Brighton threw me out of my comfort zone and opened my eyes to the world as the ridiculous and amazing wonderland that it is.

But the time has come to see what the next chapter in this crazy life has in store for me… and bittersweet as it is, it’s time to say goodbye.

Until next time, Brighton… you’ve been fabulous.

Hahahaha, that was darling. My UK geography is somewhat limited (though I have been to Liverpool where my brother got into a yelling match for stupidly wearing a Bayern Munich jersey around) and I never had any idea Brighton was so exciting. Here’s to more adventures. And for the record if I’m ever in a gay bar fight I’ll throw a bitch-slap in your honour.

It is always best to leave after you’ve had a good time. In this case, you seem to have gotten a wonderful education on living in the 21st century while there.

Haha just read your lesbian encounter – hilarious! From Brighton to Liverpool, two amazing cities! I’m from Leeds, but always hankering to go to Liverpool, it’s by far the best city in the north! The Tate, the docks, the girls are all quite the spectacle!
