The Really Honest Review #1

The Really Honest Review is a monthly/weekly/when I can be arsed-ly round up of where I’ve been, what I’ve done – and whether or not it was shit. No fluff… just the good stuff.

Out and About.

Unless you’ve been living under a rock, if you’re from Liverpool you’ll have probably heard of Scouse Bird Blogs. Well, the fit as fuck little doll is smart as well as funny, and she’s opened her very own shop selling all sorts of bits and bobs to help us Liverpool girls cope with our fella’s shit – so I went down to celebrate the opening with a Prosecco in true Scouse style. It’s hidden away in Rent-A Space on Dunnings bridge Road, so it’s a bit off the beaten track, but it’s definitely worth a visit. Think Ariel’s cave of gadgets and gizmo’s – if Ariel was, like me, partial to things like ‘cock enthusiast’ keyrings and fans that you can plug into your phone to blow your hair while you take a selfie (you’re move, Kim) If you can’t get there, try harder. If you really can’t get there, check out the Scouse Bird Shop insta.

Food and Bevs.

I finally made it to the brand new Baltic Market in the old Cain’s brewery, and obviously I had to try the famous halloumi fries that everyone’s been raving about. Truthfully? The sauce was a bit vile. I mean, I still ate the fucking lot don’t get me wrong, but I’d get it without the sauce next time. The market itself though is well worth a visit – and it allows dogs which means it gets an automatic 10/10 from me. It’s really chilled, so perfect if there’s a group of you and you just want somewhere where you can eat if you like, but can just grab a drink if not. It get’s really busy though, so bear that in mind if you’re going on a weekend, or if a firm of you are going for bevs after work.

Adventures.

I’ve already mentioned this, albeit dead briefly, but I tried wakesurfing for the first time in France last month and it was Despite absolutely shitting my pants thinking I was going to make a show of myself and end up sobbing in the water, I managed to get up first time. I was absolutely buzzing off myself… for about 3 minutes before I lost my balance, and hit the water like a bag of dicks. I’d forgotton to let go of the rope, so I hit the water with such force I swear water seeped into my actual eye sockets and all sorts. It won’t be the last time that happens though, I’m sure.
